Covid-19 Guidance for Dental Services

The care and safety of patients and staff is our priority here at the dental surgery.

NEW STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES

The care and safety of patients and staff is our priority here at the dental surgery.  The changes you can now expect as standard are as follows:

* Screening  and temperature checks of all patients. Controlled access to the surgery

*Scheduled times only,  protecting patients that are cocooning or medically compromised

* Recording the temperatures of all staff (twice a day)

*Hand sanitisers  and new instructions before entering

*ULV Foggers.  We use these with dilute HOCL, this is effective at killing viruses and bacteria and is not harmful to humans. The Ultra Low Volume (ULV) Foggers create a mist of this disinfectant that we use to deep clean the surgery and all of the contact surfaces in the building.

*Additional PPE – long sleeve surgical gowns, 3M respirator masks, Visors, single use disposables for deep cleaning

* Anti viral mouth rinse – the most effective is 1% to 1.5% hydrogen peroxide

* Thirty minute deep clean of surgeries after each AGP (aerosol generating procedure) appointments

These changes exceed the Irish Dental Association guidelines for Covid19 protection.  We hope this will reassure all patients existing and new, that your visit to the dental surgery will be a safe and professional experience.
